Through the joint efforts of professional and amateur Lepidoptera specialists, scientists, policymakers, and especially members of WG2 and WG3, the first 1,000 complete genomes of European Lepidoptera have been released. The data, publicly available to explore, will allow not only for a better understanding of the evolution of Lepidoptera but also to address pressing societal issues like food security or climate change resilience.
To celebrate the milestone, our community prepared the Project Psyche white paper, which was published in Trends in Ecology & Evolution on November 26th.
